World of Wonder was designed in 2019 as a face to face class Block of the Month quilt.
My previous BOM quilts were either medallion style or blocks, I wanted to try something different and decided on a row by row design.
Each row is inspired by designs from different parts of the world.
Even though Japan is the only country from this quilt that I have been too, the remainder are on my list of places to visit hopefully in the not too distant future. These include Italy, Greece, Eastern Europe, South America, India and Pakistan.
All of the patterns in this quilt are my artistic interpretation of images and designs that I have seen in various forms, they are in no way meant to be an absolute representation of these countries.
When you sign up for the program, you will get access to the full PDF pattern with full sized printable pattern sheets and video tutorials
The quilt includes a variety of different techniques including my favourite appliqué technique using a semi soluble stabiliser, turned edges then machine stitched. Combined pieced and applique blocks, foundation and curved piecing.
Full step by step video and written instructions are given for all techniques in this quilt along with many other tips along the way.
NOTE: This pattern can be adapted to suit your preferred method of appliqué.
(Instructions for other methods not included in this course.)
